General guidelines for home care:  To help achieve maximum therapeutic benefit, please hydrate yourself with water before and after your sessions as a hydrated body is better equipped to relax, repair and detoxify. Hydration with electrolyte balance is recommended. Always schedule your massage AFTER any strenuous workout routine. Gentle stretching and hydrotherapy (soak in a warm bath or hot tub) are safe and advisable after most massage sessions where inflammation or skin conditions are not an issue. Your therapist may have specific recommendations for heat, ice, stretching or a home program based on your recovery or specific medical needs. Your therapist will make a recommendation for continuation on a course of therapeutic massage, another visit or for a course of general preventive maintenance to help keep you feeling and performing at your best.
